What are secondary domains?
You are able to have as many domains as you would like point to our server. There are three types of additional domains that can be used:
- Parked Domain: This domain completely mirrors your primary domain. If you type in the secondary parked domain, it will open your website and all pages that worked on the primary domain will work on the secondary domain.
http://www.secondarydomain.com/page.html will work the same as http://www.primarydomain.com/page.html
- Add-on Domain: This domain links to a specify page to the site. It will not mirror any other pages, and once the page has loaded, it will take on the form of the primary domain.
http://www.secondarydomain.com will change to http://www.primarydomain.com/page.html when loaded.
- Subdomain: A secondary domain doesn't have to necessarily be purchased to take advantage of the subdomain features. A subdomain replaces the "www" on any given domain. It can either link to an entire directory of the same name or to a specific page, much like Add-on Domains.
http://subdomain.primarydomain.com will either point to http://www.primarydomain.com/subdomain/ or to http://www.primarydomain.com/page.html
